Sara McBroom is the Therapeutic Foster Care Recruiter in the Lafayette/Lake Charles Region. Sara has been employed with Louisiana United Methodist Family and Children Services since April 2021.
Sara and her family relocated to Lafayette from Monroe in 2020. Sara has over a decade of experience working in child welfare. Before Methodist Foster Care, Sara worked for Louisiana’s Department of Children and Family Services as a Child Abuse Investigator and the Center for Children and Families in Monroe as an Advocate Supervisor with CASA of NELA and a Forensic Interviewer with the Children’s Advocacy Center.
Throughout that time, Sara developed a passion for the child welfare system and the families involved. Sara poured her enthusiasm into forming a non-profit called Suitcases for New Places. As a result, she provided youth with necessities as they came into foster care with the support of the community. Sara is excited to continue this work in the southern portion of our state.
Sara believes that every child deserves to feel safe and loved. She is eager to find Therapeutic Foster Parents who are willing to fulfill those needs.
